The Narco Saint of Bako

I don’t know how I missed this but the last Sunday the paper ran an article on the patron saint of drug dealers – Jesus Malverde. According to the article, “up to 80 percent of Mexican nationals involved in the local drug trade have Malverde’s likeness on something of theirs.” As a matter of fact, “Malverde prayer candles were far outselling the Psalm 23 and 10 Commandments candles recently at Botanica La Guadalupana in Bakersfield.” I guess if they run out Malverde fans can always go here.

Maybe somebody outta tell ‘em a Malverde T-shirt is a bad idea.
