Paul slept well last night and woke up feeling better, but he’s still having a hard time opening his eyes. It bothers him to open the left eye (the one he had the transplant in) and it’s hard for him to open just his right eye, so he’s spending a lot of time with both eyes closed. The struggle is more mental than anything, but he is doing better. We went to Blockbuster and rented a butt load of movies, so we’ve done nothing but sit around and eat and watch movies in the dark. It’s kinda nice.
A little while ago Paul turned to me and said, “Just so you know, the past 16 hours of blindness has done nothing to change my mind. I still would rather have a guide horse.”
