What very well may be the most asinine proposal I’ve ever heard is being discussed by the city public works officials this week. Someone came up with the bright idea of building a new east/west freeway right through BHS’s campus. The plan calls for the destruction of the industrial building so that an eight lane freeway can pass through the area. The City Public Works director, Raul Rojas, argued that the freeway could improve the campus by getting rid of the railway that sits next to the school. And, he says, a noise barrier covered in beautiful vines could be built to keep the noise down.
What kind of an idiot suggests that they put a freeway through a school, let alone a school as old as BHS?
