Porter Props

Yesterday was Joey Porter day. Chuck came over to help me fix a light fixture and the first thing he said was, “Happy Joey Porter Day!” and I was all, “huh?” Then he proceeded to refresh my memory while looking at me like I was a complete idiot.

They had a parade and thousands of people showed up to cheer for the local hero. Apparently Chuck knows Joey personally and he tells me he is quite a nice fellow. As a matter of fact, Joey took the opportunity to talk a little bit about all the violence going on lately and is quoted as saying, “The foolishness out there isn’t going to make Bakersfield a better place.”

Here’s hoping some of those fools start listening.
