Killingfield

I don’t know what’s going on around here, but I’m starting to think there’s something in the water. People in this town are going nuts and they’re killing each other in the process.

Another person was killed at The Valley Plaza this past weekend, making it a very deadly place to shop. The homicide does not appear to be random and two suspects have already been apprehended. Jimmy Robinson and Jennifer Robinson are being held for stabbing Kenneth Moses to death in the parking lot near Red Robin.

Also killed this weekend was Perry Quinn Robinson, a 15 year old boy out riding his bike. A man approached him in a car and after a few words, shot Robinson in the head.
His heart broken mother announced on the news this morning that she forgave the killer. I don’t know if I would be able to be quite so forgiving if that had been my boy.

Then there was the girl found bleeding outside a home in East Bakersfield last week. Eighteen year old Stephanie Vaughn died a short time later at KMC. Another 18 year-old, Nathaniel Johnson, was arrested in connection with the murder.

These stories are just the tip of the iceberg. It seems like every time I turn around I’m hearing something about someone getting killed or attacked or something! And most of the time it’s kids doing the killing and being killed. What’s up with that?

It’s like kids these days think it’s cool to kill someone.
