Wondering

One of the deputies charged with the death of a man in custody has taken a plea deal.  According to bakersfield.com “Lisa Romero pleaded no contest to one misdemeanor count of assault under the color of authority.”  She was sentenced to one day in jail and three years informal probation.  ONE day!?   James Moore died as a result of the beating Romero participated in and she’s only sentenced to one day?  

What gives?
