No Worries!

The Army Corps Engineers, who told us all recently that the breaking of the Isabella Dam was the biggest threat in the country, announced yesterday that the threat was gone. The Corps handed operation of the dam back over to the city of Bakersfield saying, “We’re over the hump.”

Excuse me, but that dam is fifty years old and built on top of a fault line. This area is historically known to flood. I don’t care if the snowmelt has slowed down; it’s hard for me to believe the danger of flooding has suddenly disappeared.

Maybe the heat will go away too.
