The Fukien Pagoda. Hoi An, Central Vietnam.
There’s a new shopping center opening soon. No, it’s not another strip mall cluttered with chain stores way out on the corner of White and Flight. It’s the Little Saigon Plaza and it’s on Union Avenue! There have been some very slow efforts to revive the area ever since Vidal’s closed down and everything really went to pot. I’m thinking this plaza sounds pretty cool. The mall will include a supermarket, restaurant, other various businesses, a beef noodle shop (what’s that?) and Vietnamese and Filipino fast food joints.
If I’m not too lazy, I’ll try to get out of bed and go to the ribbon cutting ceremony tomorrow at 10:00. Anything for a little excitement.
