Composthumous

This is pretty cool. Turns out the largest compost pile in the entire United States is right here in Kern County. Community Recycling near Lamont produces 300,000 tons of compost every year. Over a thousand grocery stores from all over California and Nevada send their rejected fruits and vegetables to the 140-acre facility to rot. The trash is turned and watered and processed and tested and finally sold as vitamin rich soil.

Kern County seems to be a popular place for people to send their trash. I guess all that hot weather comes in handy after all.
