I'm back....

I’ve been lazy lately. Sorry. There hasn’t been anything good to blog about, but here goes anyway.

There’s been some stuff about the dairies…should we or shouldn’t we allow 25,000 cows to move in near the grapevine and start pooping all over the place? You think maybe the stench of cow crap might harm Bakersfield’s image of the truck stop cow town you once broke down in?

There’s also been more news about all the legal dumping going on. Farmers along the road to the dump are sick of finding rotting couches and pee stained mattresses in their fields. People drive out to the dump and find it closed so they just go ahead and dump there stuff anyway. Makes sense to me.

Bryanna Jagels, soon to be ex-wife of District Attorney Ed Jagles, is back in jail. Apparently she’s more concerned with being able to use her cell phone than she is with getting off the drugs so she can care for her 6-year-old son. What a turd.

For some reason 26% of the population of Bakersfield thought it would be a good idea to elect an “ultra conservative” youth pastor to the Kern High School District Board. Keep your calendars clear for the book burnings which should commence any day now.

The mayor of Arvin was arrested the day before the elections on charges of child molestation. Olivares says his opponents framed him. This guy cannot stay out of the news. He’s always pissing someone off. In 2002 they tried to recall him – why they didn’t I have no idea. He got pulled over a year ago and cited for having an open container and then demanded the deputy be fired. Basically this guy is a skeeze and needs to be run out of town.

This is interesting… a 74 year old man was arrested yesterday for beating a 40 year old man to death. With a shovel. Dang….. that is one tough old bird.

The cops shot and killed another Daleian who was running around front yard waving a gun. There was a standoff for about an hour then I think it started getting late and the cops were tired and wanted to go home so they went ahead and shot the guy. Hey – he was asking for it.

And, last but not least, the historic Haberfelde home on Oleander will be open for public viewing. But only if you’re willing to cough up $20 bucks. I think I am. I drive by that house all time on the way to my parent’s house, which is also on Oleander, but significantly smaller. Nosing around this big ol’ house sounds like fun to me.
