This Town Is On FIRE!

Yesterday as I was walking from one building to another at work I noticed smoke rising in the distance. It was pretty smoky but it wasn’t really dark black so I figured it wasn’t too big of a deal. By the time I went back outside again the smoke was gone.

When I got home I noticed I could smell the burning in the air and figured that was because the wind was blowing to the south. Turns out I was right. There’s an article in the paper today describing two grass fires that were suspiciously set near the Kern River. One was by Golden State Ave. and the other was near Westchester. Luckily no damage was down. Then a few minutes ago I walked outside and smelled smoke again.

What the hell? Like it’s not hot enough around here already?
