The Kern isn't the only killer water around here.

There was some real encouraging news in the paper yesterday. Besides having bad air and bad weather, it turns out we also have bad water. (It’s a miracle I’ve lived this long.) According to the article there’s arsenic in our water. What the hell? Thanks for FINALLY clueing us onto that little tid bit.

The article says that arsenic appears naturally in water wells, but with new purity laws going into effect next year, the water we drink now will soon become undrinkable. It already was for me. I only drink filtered water. I follow the line of thinking that you should NOT be able to smell your water.

Basically the water battle comes down to the bigger providers trying to squeeze out the smaller providers by making them find ways to filter their water better. A map show next to the article shows which companies had wells flagged and which had not. The funny thing is, nearly all of the smaller companies had no wells flagged and nearly all of the larger companies did.

Proving once again that bigger isn’t necessarily better.
