I made the first appointment for my son today on the road to getting a cornea transplant. I was afraid they wouldn’t do it because of his age, but I finally got a hold of the doctor in UCLA and he said to bring him in. Paul struggled all summer with a specialist trying to get the gas permeable lens in his eye. He just couldn’t do it. She said she had never seen anyone with a bigger phobia of putting something in his eye. Originally the doctor in UCLA said we should wait until Paul was fully grown, but it looks like now we’re going to go ahead and do it. Whew! After fighting with that lens for hours, even Paul is looking forward to the surgery.
But really he still wants a guide horse.
