Too bad they didn't know about the 6 bodies.

I was listening to the news this morning while getting ready for work when I heard something about another rescue from the Kern river. Looking up I saw a bunch of teenagers standing on a rock looking stupid. Apparently these kids have their heads planted firmly up their collective asses. They jumped into the river yesterday and somehow managed to get to the other side. Just barely. Once across was enough and they suddenly realized they were stuck. Hours past and they finally got desperate. Two of them jumped back into the river and struggled to the other side. At last help was on the way. Boy was it ever.

The Californian called the event a “spectacle.” Rescuers from Kern County Sheriff’s Search & Rescue, the U.S. Forest Service, Kern County Sheriff’s Department, Californian Highway Patrol, the Bakersfield Fire Department and the Kern County Fire Department all showed up. Oh, yeah, and the news, of course, so the whole thing was caught on tape.

The river didn’t kill them, but the embarrassment might.
