Share the Buzz

Bakersfield.com recently hired a new dude from Ventura to help them modernize and improve their image; I forget his name. I tired to look it up online, but according to this, Bakersfield.com only has one staff member.

Anyway, so they’ve added some new features (besides the blogs) and one of the things I noticed today is that they’ve added a “share your photos” feature using buzznet. So, I clicked on the link to check it out. There aren’t many photos right now, but I suspect that will change. There’s a few of the fair, one of a little girl who looks like she was just rescued from the bottom of a well, and several more of different landmarks around town. I like the picture of the Skateland sign the best. Ahhh Skateland….fond memories.

A couple of the pics seem a bit odd to me; like the one with the store and the signs that read, “We take food stamp” and “98 cents and more.” What does that mean? Are they guaranteeing that everything in the dump with be at least 98 cents? Whew, that’s a load off my mind. And what’s the deal with the picture taken on the top floor of Woolworth? What the hell is that stuff and why is it labeled “Civil defense”?

But, rather than complain or make fun, I’ve decided to take my camera and go out and take some picture of my own. After all, it is a beautiful day.
