Castle & Crook, er... I mean, Cook. Yeah. Castle & Cooke are working on plans to expand their white flight empire by building a “lifestyle center” along the Kern River between Old River and Buena Vista Roads. The “village” style development would incorporate offices, restaurants, condos, and retailers, all in a park like setting. Zippity Do Dah!

It’s interesting how no one is ever interested in developing “park like” settings in south-east Bakersfield.
