A Sad Story

The father who provided alcohol to his underage daughter, who then crashed a friend’s car and killed Bakersfield mother of three, was sentenced to two years in jail yesterday. Dennis McCormick tearfully plead guilty to child endangerment and numerous other charges. His daughter, Dana, who was 17 at time of the accident, already began serving her sentence of seven years for second-degree murder. The woman killed, Jada Benge, was with her husband and three young daughters at the time of the accident.

The whole thing would seem like a terrible accident were it not for the fact that the father knew his daughter was an alcoholic and was actually on probation for a past drunk driving conviction.

I don’t mean to point fingers, but this really looks like a case of a father more concerned about being cool than he is about being correct.
