Take THAT L.A.!

Bakersfield stuck out it’s tongue and went pppfffttt!!! to LA today. According to a new report by the Environmental Protection Agency, Los Angeles has smoggier air than the San Joaquin valley. Ha! Now we don’t have the worst air in the state AND all the stupidest people.

I have to admit, I’m surprised to hear this. As far as I can tell not many people around here seem to be concerned about the environment. I see more and Hummers and SUVs idling down Rosedale Hwy. everyday. Kelly Hogan Malay, the spokeswoman from the San Joaquin Valley district, is quoted in the paper as saying, “We’d like to believe that public awareness of this issue has become so high in the valley that people are changing their behavior.”

Clearly she has not been to Bakersfield lately.
