An article in the paper today caught my eye this morning. It was about tracing cats ancetry. It was an interesting read, but the thing that struck me most was this part:
Carlos A. Driscoll of the National Cancer Institute and colleagues spent more than six years collecting species of wildcat from Scotland to Israel. He then analyzed the DNA of the wildcats, of many ordinary house cats and of the fancy cats that breeders started to develop in the 19th century.
Why the hell is a dude from the Cancer Institute spending six years studying cats DNA? Shouldn't he be studying something more, oh I don't know, cancer related? No where in the article does it explain how his studying cats relates to cancer.
This guy just may be the king of goofing off at work.
