Sludge anyone?

Watching the news this morning, something the anchor said really caught my attention. Millions of tons of partially treated human waste from LA are being dumped & spread over fields in Kern County. I immediately spit out the cantaloupe I was eating. That is so nasty!! Why?? Why can’t they spread their poop somewhere else? I'm disgusted. We are the 4th largest ag. producing county in the U.S. Don’t we have any say on what LA can and can not dump in our fields? Apparently Senator Dean Florez is announcing today that he is proposing a new bill to limit the amount of Bio. trash & sludge that can be dumped here.
