Biography of a Bakersfieldian (or this one at least)

Before I go on I think perhaps I need to verify my pedigree.

My father was born in West Texas, as were his parents and 11 aunts & uncles, all of them between the 1900s and the 1930s. Before that the lineage is so diluted and firmly established in American folklore there is scarcely a tie to any type of European ancestry. On my mother's side...she was born in B-town an abandoned and adopted infant in the wake of the Okie Dust Bowl migration, so I don't have much info...

Both of my parents graduated from Bakersfield High School in the 50s. My brother was born in Abilene, Texas in 1959 and my sister in Bakersfield in 1961 (My dad was 20 and my mother 19 when my brother "Buck" was born. BTW - my parents were High School sweethearts.) For the most part we've been here ever since. I graduated from West High in 1986, got married in 1987 and had my only child in 1989. He will be a freshman at Bakersfield High School this fall - class of 2008.

I am 36 years old and I've lived in the same town all my life. (And, no.. I do not like Buck Owens.)
