Here I am! Where's my check?

One of my loyal readers, Kev, brought up a good question. If Jeremy Sons turned himself in, does that mean he gets the reward money? Of course the answer is no, but then, who does & why not? If authorities were so hot and bothered to catch the guy (not because he actually did anything wrong mind you) they were ready to cough up big bucks for him, then why shouldn’t they pay him for coming forward? I mean, I bet a lot of “wanted” people would gladly show up and turn themselves in if they knew they were gonna get rich off it. People are stupid that way.

Speaking of Jeremy, according to an article in the paper today, he turned himself in because he was sick & tired of hiding out in the woods. A three month long man hunt covering three states does tend to wear a guy out after all. The article also makes a point to emphasize Jeremy was “covered in bug bites.” That makes me laugh cuz when I was little my mom called my nipples “bug bites.”

The lengths to which the Kern County D.A.’s office has gone to locate Jeremy and prosecute Bruce are truly astonishing. Deputy Public Defender Michael Lukehart was quoted as saying, "There have been an extraordinary amount of resources that have been directed at this case. There are some cases on which the prosecutor's office will spend an unlimited about of money, and it looks like this is one of those cases."

Hmmmm. I wonder why?
